I Peter 1:3-9
… by His great grace we have been born anew to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:3b, RSV
The mercy of God has accomplished the following for us as believers to enjoy: (a) A living hope. As a result of Gods compassion for the dying world, He made the way of escape for us through the suffering, death and resurrection of Christ Jesus (v. 3), (b) An inheritance kept in heaven for us which is; imperishable, undefiled and unfading (v. 4). (c) By God’s power we are being guarded for a future salvation through our faith in Him (vv. 5 and 9). The Holy Spirit keeps, teaches and guides us in the truth awaiting the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Am I complying with the Holy Spirit’s leading?
God’s hopeful mercy makes us believe and rejoice in the salvation that has been perfected for us though we pass through trials which will only last a while. See every trial as a promotion and a booster of your faith to the next level that you were not aware of. Let the living hope come alive, that situation is surmountable. “Faith can sing through days of sorrows, all will be well.”
